Creating & Presenting
Chris Bradley has been creating & presenting concerts
since his time at the Royal Northern College of Music.
His first ensemble, The Elastic Band, a wind &
percussion group regularly presented family concerts in the during
the 1980's.
In 1988 he formed a percussion trio, Bradley's Hitmen,
who still perform today. However, one of Chris's ambitions was
to encourage young children from an early age to experience the
sound of a live orchestra. The opportunity arose in 1998 and at
the request of the Sinfonia of Leeds he devised & presented, in
his own inimitable style, a "hands-on" orchestral concert called
Rhythms my mother taught me.
It was so successful that Leeds Leisure Services asked Chris
to repeat this concert in their series at the Town Hall, Leeds,
which then led onto a series of 3 concerts devised & presented
by Chris, entitled Orchestral Adventures.
2003 saw the third series & to date there are 10 different shows
with titles as diverse as Heroes R Here, Cold Jelly
& Custard, The World is a Circle, Aloha and
Made in Britain.
Chris has narrated Peter & the Wolf with Carl Davis &
the Orchestra of Opera North at Buxton Opera House. He has presented
& narrated Bear Necessities for the National Trust at Polesden
Lacey, Surrey.
Recent engagements include narrating Howard Blake's The Snowman
for the East Riding Youth Orchestra and in May 2004 Chris
Bradley's Orchestral Adventures with the Hull Philharmonic
Orchestra as part of an audience development programme.
